Cassandra Shofar

Certified Yoga Instructor

Cassandra is a certified yoga instructor who completed her 200-hour training in 2013 through Bhumi’s Yoga in Columbia Station and her 500-hour professional level training through TRY 4 Life Yoga Teacher Training in Aurora. In 2016, she completed an internship under Judi Bar, E-RYT 500, who is director of the yoga program at the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute. She is registered with Yoga Alliance. 

Cassandra also received her Reiki Master certification in the spring of 2016, and received certifications in therapeutic yoga, chakra yoga/Reiki restructuring and yoga nidra in March of 2016. 

She enjoys connecting the mind and body, bringing relaxation, balance and mindfulness to her students' lives, and welcomes people of all levels to her classes. Cassandra focuses on breath work, meditation and alignment, and believes everyone, no matter what age, ailments or challenges, can benefit from yoga. 

By day, she is a full-time journalist/editor of three newspapers in the Geauga County area — The Geauga County Maple Leaf, Chesterland News and Kirtland Chronicle. By night, she likes to practice and teach yoga and lead weekly meditations.  Her other passions include music, the arts, animals, playing guitar and piano, creative writing, sketching, meditation, playing her singing bowls, traveling, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors.
